Vail is the nearest town with amenities like a grocery store, convenience store, hospital, etc. Please let us know if you’re looking for anything in particular and we’d be happy to help with some recommendations.

Yes, although you probably shouldn’t be too concerned. Altitude sickness is caused by traveling to high altitudes too quickly, which doesn't allow the body enough time to adjust to the reduced oxygen and air pressure. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, vomiting, insomnia, and shortness of breath.
The best way to prevent altitude sickness is to acclimate gradually, such as by staying in Denver (at 5,280 feet above sea level) for a few days before heading up to Vail (at 8,150 feet) or Piney River Ranch (at 9,350 feet). We totally understand that’s not possible for most folks, though, so just drink lots of water before you arrive and stay hydrated while here and you’ll be fine.
If you do experience severe altitude sickness symptoms while visiting, please consider seeking treatment at the hospital in Vail. We will also have medical staff on standby at the wedding venue available for any incidents there.

While mountain weather is unpredictable, expect sunny skies with an average high of 68, with temperatures dropping to an average of 45 in the evening. The wedding ceremony and reception are at higher altitude and may be a bit chillier.
-
Except for Saturday at the wedding venue, you should have cell service. The venue is in a fairly remote location and does not have cell service, however, there is a landline for emergencies. We hope that you take the opportunity to unplug and celebrate with us!
events FAQs

-
Wedding Ceremony & Reception: To allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, this is an adults-only event. We hope that you instead bring your dancing shoes and enjoy a night out! We appreciate your understanding and please let us know if you need help finding childcare.
All other events: Yes, we would love for them to join!
-
Wedding Ceremony & Reception: Only if your invitation was addressed to you “and Guest”. You will be able to confirm your guest’s name when you RSVP.
All other events: Yes, we would love for them to join!
-
Friday Events: We recommend that you either rent a car to use during the weekend or carpool to the events on Friday. We do not recommend that you rely on Uber or Lyft, as they both have very limited availability in the area.
Wedding Ceremony & Reception: To help everyone enjoy themselves and save you driving a bumpy dirt road, we will provide round-trip shuttles from Minturn and Vail to the venue. We strongly recommend that you take them. Please see the events page for shuttle information.

We want you to feel comfortable in the mountain surroundings at the wedding venue, while keeping the vibe fairly fancy.
Masculine: Suit and tie, plus consider adding a touch of the mountain vibe to your look. Think earthy tones, shirts and ties with natural themes, or dress boots, if you have them.
Feminine: A long dress, cocktail dress, or dressy jumpsuit, while leaning into the mountain feel. Perhaps opt for colors and fabrics that play up the natural setting or consider a nice pair of booties, faux fur, or flowy fabrics. Heels with a thin heel are not recommended because there is gravel and decking at the venue.
-
Ceremony: Outdoors
Cocktail hour: Indoor and outdoor options
Dinner & Dancing: Indoors

We kindly ask that there are no phones or cameras during our wedding ceremony. There will be plenty of time to capture the view later in the evening!
NOTE: There is no cell service at the venue, so please take the opportunity to unplug and celebrate with us.

No, he’s taught Collin, his best man, how to fish, so he can teach anyone.

Actual trail is TBD, but we’ll keep it chill. Lauren spent summers encouraging middle schoolers up mountains as a camp counselor, so she can handle you. Please bring a water bottle – hydration is key!
