Travel & Stay
Fly
Denver international airport
Likely the cheaper option with more direct flight availability, it’s two hours from the Vail area. Many airport shuttle and rental car options.
Vail-Eagle County Regional airport
Likely the more expensive option with few direct flights (only from Denver and Dallas-Fort Worth), it’s only 30 minutes from the Vail area. Fewer airport shuttle and rental car options.
Stay
Stay with the wedding party in Minturn, Colorado, an old mining town and site of the Welcome Party. Or stay 10 minutes down the road in Vail, a classic ski town, for more lodging, dining, and activities options. Shuttles to and from the wedding will be provided from both towns. Let us know if you have any questions about where to stay!
Minturn Inn
A charming bed and breakfast with nine rooms that we have reserved entirely for our wedding guests, hosting Lauren & Joe.

A southwest-inspired inn in Minturn with 12 rooms that we have reserved entirely for our wedding guests.
Evergreen lodge at vail
A cozy option in the Vail Village. Use the booking link below for 10% off the listed price and book early, as it does not allow for reserved room blocks. After you click the link, there is no need to enter a discount code (it is applied automatically).
Piney River Ranch
Stay at our wedding venue, which has multiple cabins and glamping tents available for rent. Small caveat: there are no showers on site. It has very limited availability, so book soon if you’re interested.
hotel Minturn
A boutique hotel with four rooms owned by the same folks as the Minturn Inn, which we have reserved entirely for our guests.
Airbnb / VRBO
There’s plenty of options throughout the Vail Valley on Airbnb and VRBO.
Get Around
Wedding shuttle
To help everyone enjoy themselves and save you driving a bumpy dirt road, we will provide round-trip shuttles from downtown Minturn and Vail to the venue. We strongly recommend that you take them. More specific information to come.
Rental car & carpool
Given the lack of public transit and ride share options, if you are flying in, we advise that you plan to rent a car or carpool during your stay.
Airport shuttle
If you’re not renting a car, there are many airport shuttle options. Some highly regarded companies are:
Public transit & ride share
Public Transit: There is a free shuttle that runs throughout Vail, but its frequency will be limited in late September. It does not service Minturn, the site of the welcome party.
Ride Share: There is very limited availability of ride shares in the Vail Valley. We do not recommend that you rely on Lyft/Uber during your stay.
Taxi: A few taxi companies operate in the Valley, but they are pricey.
Do
eat
Alpenrose: An après-ski favorite, this place will make you feel like you are in the Alps.
La Cantina: The best Mexican food in a parking garage in the Valley! Get it to go (don’t forget a margarita) and eat it on a bench in the Village.
drink
Breweries: In the state that effectively invented craft beer, there’s too many options to pick just one. Here is a list of some of our favorites in the area.
10th Mountain Whiskey: An excellent distillery based a few miles down the road from Vail, with a fun tasting room in the Vail Village. Try the rye.
Explore
Gondola: Take a ride up the Vail Mountain gondolas, which will be running Friday through Sunday.
Golf: Fun fact - a golf ball travels 10% farther at altitude. There are many challenging courses in the Valley where you can test this randomly Googled fact.
Scenic Drive: Take a scenic drive for some leaf and peak peeping. Here’s a shorter and a longer suggested route, but it’s hard to go wrong.
adventure
Jeep tour: Act like Joe (who has a Wrangler) and explore the mountains via 4x4. There’s many great companies in the area, such as Nova Guides and Timberline Tours.
Hike: Favorite trails in the Valley are Upper Piney Falls (with a trailhead at our wedding venue), Booth Falls, and the Berrypicker Trail.
